Privacy policy

How this website handles your information.

We are a privacy law firm. We built this website to collect as little about you as we reasonably can, and this policy explains what little we do.

Who we are and what this covers

This website, privacyrightslaw.com (the "Site"), is operated by Privacy Rights Law LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("we," "us," or the "Firm"). This policy describes how we handle information in connection with the Site and with inquiries you send us through it.

It does not describe how we handle information belonging to clients in the course of legal representation. That information is governed by our engagement agreement with the client and by the duties of confidentiality that apply to lawyers.

No tracking or advertising technologies

We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, tracking pixels, social-media plug-ins, session-recording tools, or similar technologies on the Site. We do not track you across other websites, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

The Site is hosted by Squarespace. Like most hosting platforms, Squarespace may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies that are required for the Site to load securely and function, and it maintains standard server logs (such as the IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and operational purposes. We do not use this information to identify or track individual visitors. Squarespace's handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy.

Information we receive

Because we do not track visitors, the only personal information we receive through the Site is information you choose to send us. If you contact us by email, telephone, or a contact form on the Site, we receive what you provide, which typically includes:

  • your name and contact details, such as an email address or telephone number;
  • the content of your message, including any description of your situation; and
  • any documents or attachments you choose to send.

Please do not send us confidential or sensitive information until we have confirmed in writing that the Firm represents you. Contacting us does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship, and information sent before that relationship exists may not be protected by the attorney-client privilege.

How we use it

We use the information you send us to respond to your inquiry, to evaluate whether we are able to help you, to check for conflicts of interest, and, if you become a client, to provide legal services. We may also use it to comply with legal and professional obligations, including record-keeping requirements that apply to lawyers, and to protect the Firm's legal rights.

We do not use your information for marketing to you unless you ask us to keep in touch, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

When we share it

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only as needed to operate the Firm and respond to you, specifically with:

  • service providers that help us run the Firm, such as our email, telephone, document-storage, and website-hosting providers, who may process information only on our behalf;
  • co-counsel, experts, or other professionals, if you become a client and it is necessary to your representation; and
  • courts, regulators, or other parties when required by law, court order, or the rules of professional conduct, or to protect the rights and safety of the Firm or others.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries from people who do not become clients for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, to maintain conflict-of-interest records, and to meet our professional obligations, after which we delete or anonymize them. Information relating to clients is retained in accordance with our file-retention practices and the rules that govern lawyers in Georgia.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections to the Site and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and email in particular is not a secure channel. If you have sensitive information to share with us, please contact us first so we can arrange a more secure method.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to our legal and professional obligations to retain certain records. Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights regarding your personal information. To make any request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Because we do not use tracking or advertising technologies, there is nothing to opt out of on the Site itself, and we honor Global Privacy Control and similar signals by design.

Children

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

The Site may link to other websites, including the websites of courts, agencies, and other organizations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the Site handles information, including if we ever begin using analytics or other technologies described above, we will update this policy and change the effective date at the top of the page before the change takes effect.
